God is the sun and I am the moon.
Just as the sun creates the light,
God is the light
The moon just reflects the light.
When I first believed I was a new moon... now I'm a crescent
My goal is to become a full moon
Fully reflecting the light of the Son.
The fuller I become the greater pull I have on the tides of the lives around me.
My job is not to sunburn,
That's the sun's job.
My job is to reflect the light
When surrounded by darkness.

Thanks! I've had several e-mail comments on this too. I wrote this about 10 years ago when Rob and I were having some issues. I felt it was my job to change him and as most of us know, we can't change people, only God can. After a fight I would walk around the house saying, "I am the moon! I am the moon!" It came to my mind the other day and it seemed appropriate to the challenges I am facing, so I posted it. I'm glad you were blessed by it and by all means share it with whoever.
